SECURITY
Vasant Vihar is not a gated society, hence security of residents is a big challenge. At present 6 Security Guards (2 during day time and 4 during night) have been engaged by the management for the security of members and the assets of the Society. Mobile numbers of Security Guards have been shared with the members, who can contact these guards in case of any security related problem.
CLEANLINESS IN SOCIETY AREA
HOUSEHOLD WASTE : Household waste is collected daily from all houses by Municipal Corporation.
GREEN WASTE: Society management has made arrangements to lift green waste 2-3 times in a week.
CLEANING OF ROADS & PARKS: Management has made arrangements to clean all its roads and parks 2-3 times in a week. Mobile numbers of all workers engaged in cleaning have been shared with all members.Â
CUTTING OF WEEDS & LONG GRASS: All weeds and grasses in all parks, roadside and vacant plots are cut regularly by Society management.
DISPOSAL OF BUILDING WASTE: Disposal of building waste is the responsibility of the member. In case of inability of members to lift the waste, Society has provisions to lift such waste at rates fixed by the Society.
STREET LIGHTS
Street Lights are maintained mostly by Nagar Nigam. In some areas Society has also established some street lights which are maintained by the Society.
SHOPPING COMPLEX
Society has a small Shopping Complex which has a Common Service Centre and other shops to meet the daily requirement of groceries, vegetables, dry-cleaning/ dhobi, hair cutting salon, a fashion boutique, A.C. repair shop and a tea shop.
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
There is a primary school, a middle school and a higher secondary school in the society area which are run by Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission, Dehradun. Land for these schools has been given on lease to SGRR Education Missions.
PARKS
To improve the air quality, reduce noise, enhance biodiversity and general improvement of environment in the Society area, 14 parks with a total area of 15 acres have been developed. These green areas are an asset for all the residents and are maintained by the management.
All the parks are fully fenced along with gates. Most of the parks have walking tracks, benches for senior citizens and have been planted with ornamental and evergreen plants/trees.
ROADS AND FOOTPATHS
Except for Kanwali Road all other internal roads and pedestrian paths have been constructed and are being maintained by the Society.
SOCIETY MAINTENANCE CHARGES
Society collects Society Maintenance Charge from all members for providing services such as security, office management, green waste management, cleaning in society area and maintenance of assets. SMC for the financial year 2022-23 is Rs.3600/- per year. This has been increased to Rs.7200/- per year for the financial year 2023-24. SMC has to be deposited for the financial year in advance. As per the bye-laws, 20% interest is charged for late payment of SMC.

COMMUNITY CENTRE
For the purpose of social & welfare activities of members, a Community Centre has been built adjoining Park Number 3 in Phase 1.
VASANT VIHAR CLUB
Vasant Vihar Club has been established to provide social, cultural and recreational facilities to the members of DVOCHSL. It was registered under the Society Registration Act 1860 in the year 1992. It is run in the premises of Community Centre of the Society by an elected body.
